In part, here's some of the info:

UnitedHealthcare
has announced an August 1st release of their Certification modules for the 2012 selling season. Please stay tuned for our announcement of UHC certification classes to be held later this summer across the state.

UnitedHealthcare also launched their 2012 Retail Store Program recently. This Retail Program gives you, the agent, the opportunity to choose a national retail store/location to network during the upcoming AEP.
Utilize our on-line store request form https://emailmeform.rsvp1.com/s1c1994BJhnc to notify us of your interest. All agents must adhere to the rules and regulations http://www.urlfinancial.rsvp1.com/s103d84BJhndof this program.
  • Great way to generate new leads!

Has anyone had any success working this retail angle? I seem to recall comments that it was too time consuming to be effective.

UHC Retail Portal

In this day and age of technology, can't really see too much of a downside unless the costs are prohibitive. Aside from that if I have my iphone I'm in business - simply meaning that I'm not going to lose potential business just because I'm out of the office.

So what stores have you heard are going to be in the mix? They used to be in Walmart but Humana had that last year and UHC had to move to Walgreens. I have heard Target for UHC as well as Walgreens this year.

I had a great deal of success two years ago in a lower socio-economic area in WM. Not so much success for Humana last year - I think maybe it has to do with Humana's products are not so great around here.

We did this years ago, but that was when we had more agents. It worked pretty good (Walmart) and we have retained a lot of these clients. I really don't know if it still works or not, we did this when PDP was new. I am assuming this is over 65? Didn't click on the link (didn't dare).

CMS rules & regulations make it too difficult to work a retail store. You can't surf the web for porn while at the retail store. You can't drink beer. You can't wear pajama's. You are not allowed to speak or make eye contact with the senior until you have a signed scope of appointment. Shall I go on?
