Google Voice Microphone Output Problem

So I recently signed up for Google Voice, plugged in my Logitech USB headphones and found that GV automatically sets my microphone output to the maximum level. I called a couple of people to test it and found that I was way too loud.

Has anyone had this problem? I have seen a couple of solutions that involved re-writing code for a plug-in.

Would the OBI box help with this?

I seldom use it, but when I do I have a $10 external mic. So, don't know if this will work with a headset, but it should...:

Find the sound "mixer" for your soundcard and adjust the mic input level. You may have an "advanced" tab where you can "turn on" that feature or "channel", so to speak, so you can see it and adjust it.

Also, some mics have a little 3 way switch on them for soft, medium, loud, that might help if yours has one.

Hope that helps!

Thanks Patriot. I will have to double-check but from what I can tell from the Internet, this is more of a bug in the software.
