How Many Calls a Day?

I am new to the site and have already found a ton of good information from everyone here. So thanks to all of you for that. I had a question that I want to get some of your opinions on. How many calls a day on average should a good telemarketer be be making without a dialer? We'll say that the telemarketer is on the phone for 6 hours a day. Thanks for your input!

Depends.

Goal should be to pitch 100 a day, get 5 to bite each day and close at least 5 a week . . .

Dialers are a waste of time if you ask me.

I tried them, and I got just as much done manually. Seems the key is to know when and what time to call your data.

Good Luck,

Tom

A predictive dialer may be what you need. It just dials faster for the telemarketers. Less down time, waiting to get someone on the phone.

Hi Nick,

I have managed TM rooms for over 15 yrs, in some cases with over 40 telemarketers. we went from 7am - 12:30 then the second shift came in from 12:30 to 6pm.

Depending on how long the presentation they are giving. How long is the whole call? lets say for arguments sake its 5- 10 mins for a full presentation. Try to manage for 30 dials an hour - 10,15% contact rate --(that's a whole different thread. lol) but a good phone person will get 3- 5 contacts an hour if they dial 30/hr consistently. some hours will be more productive than others but it will all work out in the wash. but the short answer 30.hr. 150 -225 in a 6 hr shift. Keep in mind thats with a motivated and properly managed and incentivised phone person. conservatively 25 dials an hour 3-5 contacts - and most importantly 20% close or better --again depending on the metrics and time cycle of your product or service. this could all be nonesense. :)

i dont believe you need a predictive dialer...if you're looking to cold call, there are a ton of lists that you can purchase and make 150-200 calls per day. the numbers usually work out where if you speak with 100 people, you will get 10 real leads. out of those 10 real leads 1 or 2 will close. im not saying that 1 or 2 will close on the first call, but that's usually the average ratio
