I am located In Ca. I used to work for a company called enetinsurance. They used to average 500-800 sales a month. All they did was buy an INSANE amount of online leads and have agents like me close them. I average about 75 sales a month there. I was a top producer there for a year.
In June I started my own company. I got an investor, so that I can have the funds to buy lots of leads too, and have a small salary so I don't stave while starting up this business. I have been very succesfull closing these "crappy leads" from lead vendors. Right now my closing ratio is 8%, Which I believe is high for online leads compared to the average agent.
Is it me or is everyone else have trouble keeping people on the books? It seems half of them cancel right before the 3 month mark. I got into health over pc because health were higher commissions and less of a headache then auto/home insurance. But if the retention rate is this low... I guess I'm just lost at what to do. Is anyone else having the same issue? Im avergaing 30-40 sales a month on my own. But with this kind of cancellation rate.. and now the cuts in commisions. Does anyone here have a good retention rate? If so can you share what you are doing to keep them on the books?
From the half of people who cancel I hear "Oh I found a job that offers benefits.. or I cannot afford it anymore" the other half I cannot get a hold of
