I Would Like Your Input - UL from Protective Life

He is 52, 6 ft tall, weights 239. Protective Life feels this is overweight and that his normal weight should be 207, so they rated him "standard" - also his bp was 140/63 which they also felt was "high." That really is borderline, I guess they are very picky....

As Wino said, Protective is not picky, they just might not have been the best fit for this client. Keep in mind, although not captive, Ed Jones has "preferred relationships" with carriers so typically their agents have a limited shelf from which to pull products.

You have at least a couple of other carriers that would take this person at S+ or better (and for less than 100/mo). That will give you some flexibility to offer more coverage on the 10 year or possibly go to 15 with the same budget.

Of course, you need to determine if term is right for them but a 52 year old in his peak earning years with less than 15 years until retirement would normally need significant coverage for that time frame.

This is certainly a case that you can get...good luck.
