I feel kind of dumb asking this - what is the difference? In the case of a Part B Reinstatement into a new plan year is the ICEP a valid enrollment period for CMS?
Remember there are no dumb questions, just dumb people!
IEP and ICEP are basically the same thing. They are for people newly eligible for Medicare. IEP is generally used for OM and ICEP is used for MA. And you only get one.I feel kind of dumb asking this - what is the difference? In the case of a Part B Reinstatement into a new plan year is the ICEP a valid enrollment period for CMS?

So who is the carrier? Because that's where the problem is. They're not picking up on the new part B date. And you do not need an SEP.thanks - in this case the member paid the part b premiums due, and was issued a new card with a Part B date of 2/1/2025. The MAPD plan year expired 12/31, and the plan is not accepting this as either a IEP or ICEP. They are looking for a SEP which there is none.
