Incentive Trips for Agents/uplines

I've been on a bunch of trips. My list of favorite features are:

-DON'T 1099 first and foremost
-NO trips in the U.S.
-5 day trip MINIMUM
-ALL inclusive
-60K-70K to qualify
-FIJI/TAHITI are two places that come to mind :)
-80% persistency
-ONLY 1 required get together during trip

I'll Think of more things to add to the list later when I have more time. Or just call me ;)

Nice website Spur! I see you have a St. Louis Cardinal Fan on the squad....I'm sure he's a baller.

But seriously, you know you would look forward to Hawaii :)

You know it! I've never been to Hawaii so it's gonna be an experience !!!

Thank you for the compliment buddy it was long overdue but we are finally done!

Yeah, that dude is a STUD! He won 2 trips that year with THE SQUAD. That picture was taken of me and him in Turks and Caicos

How do the companies record the trip costs if they don't put them on 1099s?

I would guess they write it off as a business expense? Having a trip 1099'ed was an unpleasant surprise for me many years ago. I earned a very nice trip back in my MP days.

The next year I got a $10K 1099 for the trip. Coming in on the top it cost me almost $5K in additional taxes.

Today I would decline a trip that's going to be 1099'ed unless it's a place we really want to go to.

My last 7 reward trips have been with KSKJ and RNA. Neither of them 1099 their trips.

I would like to travel to a location that I can carry. So that knocks out most of the world and the west coast.

Come to Texas, you can even bring it into the lecture hall on college campuses.

Thank you for all the input chaps.

It seems like a Menu style would be better. A sister company owns hotels all across the US, some are much more exciting than others.

I personally LOVE Europe. I spent a long time there by myself, and miss it dearly.

I've been toiling with the idea of having a pretty low premium requirement for a few incentives. Reason being, I know plenty of agents that ONLY write for 3-4 carriers, barring a few exceptions. So if I put a fairly low premium incentive ($25,000-30,000), I could maybe encourage them to include us into a small portion of their practice.

It'd be a weekend cruise or something, We're out of Galveston and we have Carnival/Royal Carribean/Disney (which is LOL expensive)

Thoughts?

I have been to Spain, Switzerland, Hawaii, Monte Carlo, Cancun (going again next week) and Dominican. Switzerland was my favorite!!!

Is the trip next week with American Group? Shane invited me on that one but I just couldn't do it on short notice. It was really nice of him to offer it without a particular reason.
