I think there's something addictive in the KK glaze. (I know, sugar is supposed to be addictive. This is different! I don't have any trouble turning down a soda or a candy bar. But if there's a box of KK Original Glazed near me, especially when they're hot, I really CANNOT resist!)

There is no Krispy Kreme very close to me. This is good as it would be an insane temptation. The glow of the "Hot and Ready" sign is visual crack.

HELLO. MY NAME IS SHONCEMAN, AND I'M A KRISPY KREME ADDICT!

I had been on the Keto diet for over a year, when somebody brought fresh, still warm, original glazed to church. I fell off the wagon right there in front of my pastor! After that I found myself frequently exiting the freeway wherever I knew there was a Krispy Kreme location. If the "Hot" sign was on, I hit the drive thru and grabbed a couple. Yes, I was addicted again! I finally stood on the scale and realized I was fighting a losing battle. So I resolved to quit cold turkey right then and there. By the grace of God, I've been able to resist so far. But I drove past a KK the other day (not on purpose this time) and the craving hit me full on. I cried out to the Lord to help me resist temptation, and was able to keep driving.

This all sounds like it's "tongue-in-cheek", but I assure you it's not. Sugar addiction is a very real thing, and sometimes addicts hyperfocus on their drug of choice, which for me is KK.

Do we need to start a shonceman accountability thread and have you check in with us weekly in regard to doughnut consumption?
