Lawmakers May Be Exempt from Exchanges

This makes my blood boil. How can they even think about exempting themselves to something that every American is going to be subjected to? Let them suffer like the rest of us.

Lawmakers, aides may get Obamacare exemption - John Bresnahan and Jake Sherman - POLITICO.com

Nothing surprising. There are exemptions from laws commonly for politicians. Just take Do Not Call, I have no problem with the intent of the law but why any exemptions? Personally for me nonprofit and politicians calls are the most annoying one wants my money the other my vote. Yes telemarketers wanted my money but in Exchange they at least offered a product or service.

Why does this surprise anyone? There are many laws/regulations that do not apply to Congress and/or parts of the governtment. For example, in our world, ERISA does not apply to government. There are many other (OSHA, Sarbanes/Oxley, NLRB, Civil Rights Act of '91, and many more.

As much as I disagree, they had to be exempted for freedom of speech.

I have no issue with this. After all, elected officials are better than we are.

Remember, socialism is not for the socialists. It's for the rest of us.

How does thier freedom of speech exceed my freedom of speech? They already have cramming rights with the post office.

Again, not saying I agree with this, but this is the argument.

By subjecting them to the DNC, the government would be restricting their freedom of speech in reaching people. However, you are always free to ignore their call or tell them not to call.

I don't know why I am arguing with you as you agree with me. But people have the same ability with my calls and do Nonprofits have a higher freedom of speech than I do as well? I believe any law good enough for the people should be good enough for the body that passes it.

I bet I could solve the issue of many of these laws by having a law stating before a new law went into effect for the public a special form of the law just effecting the law passing body must be in effect for a year.
