Leadership question

For anyone in leadership, at your imo do you lose people that you have trained and invested time into eventually because they get to the same contract level as you?

An individual producer can't get to an IMO/NMO level on their own pen. The production requirements are just too high.

Now if you're already a few steps down the chain, and recruiting people at an even lower level, then yes, that can absolutely happen.

Sounds like a recruiting organization?

In the independent space, IMOs serve as a kind of back-office. They can also offer additional brain trust resources and concepts to help us make sales. Help us with underwriting and placing difficult cases. I prefer an IMO that can bring a higher level of thinking above what I already do, or at least reinforce it.

They do what I prefer to farm out or delegate. This should have little to nothing to do with contact levels.

If someone cannot deliver in that way... then why stay?

so what's happening is I train someone and develop them, 2 years later they have a big team and doing good production to the point where the imo puts that individual at same contract level as me. Now I don't get any overrides off this individuals team when I dedicated 2 years to that person and his team.

This is your own IMO doing this to you? Essentially recruiting your agents direct?

I would 100% just find a new IMO. Your IMO shouldn't be going around you like this, regardless of their production.

They (your recruited agencies) could certainly go to a new IMO and get higher levels, but if you're the upline, then this should be something discussed between your agency and your IMO before anything is done (and some compensation for you should be on the table).

They should have moved you up when they moved your downline up. That's just the ethical thing to do. Many IMO/FMOs are not very ethical!

Your current IMO should be cutting you in on their take or you should be singing to the world and every other agency that does business with them exactly what they did to you. that is unethical BS.

And I am sure everyone would like to know who they are!
