Re: Marketing at Flie Markets.

I take my grandparents to a big flea market every now and again. There's a guy set up selling insurance there that i've talked to.
He told me he's mostly sold some short term health and CI policies and couple small FE policies. FYI- all of his signs are marketing life insurance.

He told me he pays for booth but barely his time, it seemed as though he's holding out that it might get better one day.

This is a high traffic flea market in a stable blue collar neighborhood, so it's not a bad area.
The major problem as I see it is a lot of regulars and not a ton of new foot traffic, but you are getting your name out there I geuss

The major problem as I see it is how do you look like a professional when you are sitting at a rented 15 dollar booth at a flea market?..........Its going to be tough getting past that problem!:1arghh:

You can be completely professional AND dress appropriately. When I was working in the ghetto for dual eligibles I wore a sweater, jeans, and boots. Had close to a 90% close ratio AND never had anyone think I was a cop. I'm not familiar with the flea market and jeans are usually a bit too casual for this business, but there is no reason why khakis and a polo couldn't be appropriate for this. People who need insurance don't always need to buy it from someone wearing a $500 suit with an $80 tie, or so I've heard.

I would have some type of drawing for something attractive and capture the names of prospects.

IN another business I did that for several years at a home show - never really panned out for good business as most people were just filling out forms to get a shot at free stuff. They never really wanted anything.

Agree. Calling them was no different than calling from a phone book.
