Looking for some catchy ideas/phrases that will appeal to the age 50+ market for automobile insurance. We are in line to get the contract to market the AARP IA program and I'm trying to develop a three step postcard mailer in conjunction with some other plans.

I'm initially thinking along the lines of

Savings of 30-40% on your Auto Insurance !
New Program, First time ever offered in Pa
Only drivers age 50 and up can qualify
Many are already saving hundreds of $$
Call now and get your free rate package.

*First 100 callers get free sample of Viagra !! :D

If you send out the free sample and say a free bottle comes with signing up, your sales will shoot through the roof! Heck, I'll sign up!

Sounds good but here is a little editing which may or may not be of value:

SAVE 30-40% ON YOUR AUTO INSURANCE!
Ø NEW program never before offered in PA.
Ø Only drivers age 50 or over qualify.
Ø Many are alreadySAVING hundreds of $$$.
Ø Call now for free no obligation rate package.

I really like the part about Viagra but are you sure that is legal . :D I personally think that some type of tear off request card might increase the response.

We'll let the Viagra part go for now !

My lame attempt at humor:embarrassed:

Oh yeah, xrac, the editing is actually of great value to me

Thank you

I'm no copywriting genius, but it seems if you are getting the AARP program maybe you should mention AARP

1manshow,

I am supposed to be getting this program soon (end of this quarter I think). Does your Hartford rep. have propaganda for this? A marketing pack or e-mail info that they provide?

If there is any info that you can forward, I would be in your debt.

tim@warneins.com

Did they not offer AARP in PA prior to this? I run into it all the time in NM. But, have never been able to sell it. Any idea why they are now offering this through agents?

I have no info. yet. They have been kicking my butt with those rates writing it direct for years now. They sold me on the agency contracting with that carrot, so I sure hope it transforms into reality.

I an scheduled to meet with the rep next week. If I can get anything noteworthy, I will forward it on. She did tell me that she'd like us to "up" our quote activity to guarantee the referral. We are in a town of approx 8K population and we've quoted over 500 in the last quarter. Not sure WFT they are looking for but there's not another agent in this area that generates more quote activity than our office.

Unfortunately, their marketing geniuses forbid any use or mention of the AARP in advertising materials.

500 quotes in a quarter from a population of 8000 seems like you might be the largest quoter per capita in the USofA.

So what's so special about AARP then? If you can't mention AARP then who cares if you get that program?

Would you mind if I use this as your personal testimonial ?

Apparently AARP has no immediate intentions of sharing their "direct writing" market. It appears, on the surface, that they want a piece of the agency written business they have been unable to attract.
