Marketplace Error Screens

I think the 3 day outage due to Social Security Administration's maintenance had unintended consequences. Who knows what they screwed up deeper inside this hellhole of a website.

Honestly, I think JennyK's problem may stem from the SEP updates that were done 2 weeks ago.

I have a client that landed in almost the exact same situation - mother and child. Initially, everything went thru, subsidy determination was correct, and the health plan enrollment hung on final submission button. I believe this initial error was due to the new "alert" about selecting a plan without pediatric dental. As the dental selction was throwing an error code. So we created a new account.

Clearly it seems to be a database error, that may associate to SSN's as creating a new account suddenly caused a problem with the subsidy engine. It would generate a subsidy determination with no subsidy. Went back to the original account and suddenly it would not give a subsidy (though it did generate a letter). Tried to enroll without subsidy and it kept hanging on the final enrollment confirmation on both apps. It was also giving a 4/1 effective date that should have been 3/1. Call center said the app "was flashing like it was posessed" in their system, and could not resolve the issue.

Finally enrolled the client off exchange. I have not seen one that screwed up since November.

I have gotten the same stuff with a current enrollment, verification problem, or even another reason.

The ONLY thing you can do, is create a new account. Do not pass GO, and Don't do anything else. You will waste your time. Create new account.

As for verifications if you get "Experian." (OH, what a BS problem this is!).

This is what I found out:

If the client gets that, you are screwed. This is what happens 99% of the time. The client will call Experian (and with having a lack of credit history), they will still not go through. IT IS A WASTE OF TIME!

So, this is what you need to do:

The client has to sit next to you, you call the Marketplace and ask them WHAT they need to verify them. They will tell you what to mail in, and DO JUST THAT! In 1 week (which is what I got in results), you can then enroll them.

Good luck!

I had a recent verification issue - young client, US citizen, but former foreign national. Would not verify identity online. Called marketplace. Marketplace 3 way called us into Experian, and verified us over the phone and I believe gave us a confirmation code. Said it may take 24 hours for system to update.

5 minutes later I logged back in to HC.gov, and proceeeded with the enrollment....no further issues.....

Yep...I forgot to mention that one too - which is why the client has to be next to you. I got one client the same way on verification issue - I forgot about that one. Sometimes I think it is all who you get on the phone from the Marketplace. ;)

I don't know if anyone else feels the same way I do, but I find Experian just trying to make money - getting a piece of government pie.

I wanted to ask if anyone here ever had a successful verification with Experian? I get them at least 1 time per week, and it is always the same - "We can verify them due to lack of credit history use."

I started to see Experian pop up in the Mid February. Never saw them Dec-Jan.

I feel as if this is just red-tape and more government pork waste. I mean, as mentioned in the above 3 posts, we end up going back to the marketplace to complete verifications. It seems insane.

Is anyone getting the orange error message when doing the identity verification at the beginning? The part where it asks the 3 questions about their identity???

I agree

Experian is a business. Businesses need to make money to pay the bills - just like you & I....

Yes, I have.

Experian has been part of the process since the exchange opened in October. I got error messages to call them in October.

Red tape and pork? Lol. Imagine if there was no ID verification? Ol Taterpeeler would be making up new clients all day just to collect a paycheck......

I had experion come up one time. They told me the guy I was sitting next to was dead. It will take him until August to prove that he's alive and reapply.

Maybe it was my luck, but I never got them until Feb. And it is so frustrating.

As for red tape...I would think that having a SS# is quite enough and linking in with the SS administration for verification.

I just don't see the point for Experian. That is my opinion. Keep things simple.

Heck, if they have a social that is already bad...I'm sure they have already used it numerous times. Experian would be answering the same questions, when they were checked out for a loan or something.

The response I get back from Experian is that these people do not have 'enough' credit history, therefore, they can't verify them.

By the way, I got my first one through them today....after so many they could not verify and we had to 'mail' in.

I laughed when I read this...and then I felt so bad. I wish I was there to see this.
