Med Supp Conf (Again)

The interaction with fellow agents away from the meetings is always of greater value than the talking heads putting on the conferences.

It's rare to have actual agents doing the presentations. It's usually desk jockeys that tell made up stories about their production back in the days.

The fellowship is where the value is.

This sounds about right to me, so I may go to the free day...but then again, most of the attendees will probably not be at the free day event.

But by this & other responses....Im better off buying 1500 worth of leads!

Your thread from last year also contained mention of another annual conference in MO which does not appear to be scheduled for this year yet. May be another option for you to get a better combo of "education" plus "meet and greet" this year.

Back in my day . . .

More business and useful information occurred after hours, in the bar or restaurant. I attended more than one conference as a "visitor", hanging out in the lobby bar and meeting people. Best use of my time and money more than anything else

This is that one, moved it to Dallas.

Unless he's referring to the one put on by Senior Marketing Specialists every year. They're in Missouri.

Yes. And I may have gotten mixed up on threads. The SMS seminar may have been in a separate thread but it turned up one way or another when I did med supp conf search to find tdf's last year thread.

The sms conf preliminary information for this year looks interesting.

You should attend LD. How far is Columbia, Mo. from you? I know you're in Kansas.

I was asked to speak at last year's "free day" event and really enjoyed the interaction with everyone at the conference afterward. This year, it appears that paid sponsors have the speaking slots, which goes more toward Bevo's point about the profit motive behind the agenda, apparently.

Based on the feedback of everyone I met there last year, I felt compelled to put together a smaller conference where we would all focus on exchanging actual best business practices and nitty gritty business-creation tactics. So, I put together an event in Charleston for the summer and we had 109 folks come. That was a good time.

Until the official "Med Supp" conference is geared toward agents with tangible information they can implement to improve their businesses, I would maybe get the videos and skim through them later. But the corporate sponsors and corporate professional attendees seemed to be the target audience last year.

Here's what I tried to deliver in value in my short 18 minutes as to what I'm doing that I thought might help the audience before I was literally rushed off the stage.

I will be there this year, mostly to meet with other friends in the hallways and sitting areas. I plan on announcing a get-together with whoever is interested in a close venue while there.
