I'm just starting in the med supp field and have a company that will provide my leads.....am i going to need info on med supp quoting engines also???

There is none available that I am aware of. Primarily because one really isn't needed. I sell Med Supps and even if one was available I can't imagine how I would use it or why I would need it.

Selling Med Supps is not even remotely like selling individual health insurance.

I have been in the med supp business for 6-7 years and I have never found the need to have a med supp quoting engine. Rate sheets are pretty simple to use. But I do believe that Craig Ritter has a quote engine in some states for med supps.

I agree the rate sheets are pretty easy. I built a quick quoting tool in Access but the issue is getting all the rate data in the database. It just makes it easier for our support staff to run quotes for agents who can be calling from anywhere in the country to compare plans and carriers quickly. I had never seen anything either but thought I would ask. I may go after our carriers and try to get them to give me the rates in a data file I can just import.

Where in IN are you? I am in MI but went to Purdue and have lot's of friends still in IN.

If you were selling med supps nation wide, and had quote requests coming in daily from all over, it would be very time consuming and not efficient to have outline of coverages for every company you represent, in all the states you are serving. I think a quote engine is very handy. There are a couple of them out there, but they may not quote the companies you represent.
