Medicare Qualify - Spouse Earnings

New client currently receiving SSA benefits (since 62), turns 65 in a few months. Does not have enough SSA credits on her own, will qualify based on spouse's earnings.

Will her card be issued automatically based on spousal earnings or will she have to apply direct?

I would think she would have to apply.
