MedSupp K Vs. High Deductible F

OK, all interesting, and thanks for the excellent info. Recent appointment follow up, they chose N. Going to do 2 on Monday. OOP lower than their MAPD (not counting the excess charge potential--you all have reassured me that's very infrequent to have a large one). They have cats, don't need dog walking, forget the gym, it's 60 miles to the closest participating. Interesting low OOP in SoCal. I sell more MAPD than supps, but am learning enough to offer them more. Average MAPD OOP here is at least $5,000.

One of my agent friends here likes Equitable for Med Supp, considering them for lower cost option to add to my choices for clients.

State and County specific. Here in the Socialist State of Kalifornia, Southern Section (LA area), MAPD generally are zero premium (all HMO), no cost for docs, hospital, outpatient services, etc. I even have one plan with a $2,200 OOP. They also tend to include transportation, gym membership, dental and dog walking.

Hard to compete with that except for the access to care limitation inherent in an HMO.

BTW, over 90% of my med supps are Plan N.

Same situation in Florida, that's why I sell easily in other states (all E-Apps by phone), focusing on Plan G and Plan N where appropriate.

There is a big opportunity here when you're limited by your own back yard.
