Netspend

If the account number associated with the "checking" account is 16 digits its a dead give away to the insurance carrier that this is a "prepaid" debit card. If the carrier does not accept these cards or any credit cards for that matter it will get declined. The key here is the 16 digit account number, again dead give away its a deadbeat debit card with no real checking account. You can all thank me later:yes:

The netspend card is different than others, it has a different account # than card, I have one client with foresters other with trans. No issue.

The account number is not 16 digits. There is a separate account number and a routing number. If you call the number on the card they will tell you that you can do recurring payments with that account number and routing number. But the insurance companies say they can't get paid.

You can go ahead and thank me now for setting you straight on your assumption.

Who takes credit cards? Trinity and snl do. Trans only takes debit master card. But as Galt said taking a prepaid card is asking for a chargeback. They have to physically put money in the account each month and have money in there during your draft date. They could simply pay with cash one month and have nothing in there. Not worth the headache.John even if the debit card associated with the checking account is legitimate I thought the carrier still had to accept credit cards? So many times many of these fe people have checking accounts but they don't know there checking account #'s and only have a debit card. I thought even so its hooked to a checking account the carrier treats it like a credit card?

Gerber, Kanawa(Humana) and Sentinel Security also take Credit Cards.

No assumption, pretty much what i just said, its not the card number that will be the problem but it is the account number and routing number that is the problem. The account number could be any number of digits but if its 16 that is a no no cause they know then its a debit card and no real checking account, had trans request different form of payment after getting routing and account number from jp morgan chase, nope, they said the numbers are associated with a prepaid debit. Best thing to do in a case like that is to write it with a carrier who accepts credit cards. Now you can thank me for you assuming and not reading correctly. Uh oh, i feel a nasty comment coming lol

Only reason i did this with trans was to usef the checking account associated with the card on the SSB payment form for eft on the first of each month, guy has his ssi check deposited there every first of the month.

If it is a Chase prepaid card, although it has the account and routing number it will not work for ACH transactions. I checked with Chase before using it and they advise it is not allowed.
I went ahead and tried it and it failed. So I have experience with the Chase Card.
I was about to try Netspend but from what I am reading here it looks dimm.

Yep, I even called them and asked and they said no problemo. Custy even had other auto insurance and cable deducted from the card, go figure.

Just to be clear are you talking about the Chase Bank Prepaid card or the NetSpend prepaid card. Because I tried the Chase and it didnt work. Customer got SS payments on the 3rd of each month in that Chase "Prepaid" account
