Sanford Health
I have been working as a P&C/L&H Insurance Agent for almost 2 months now. I have been working in this town for about 5 months and and just moved here a couple weeks ago. It is a fairly old community with the main competitor soon to retire. How many policies should I be selling? And, how much will the small community effect my sales?
Oh, I know he has a replacement. He has been selling with him for a couple years now. From what I hear around the town is that he rubs a lot of people the wrong way... and when the older agent retires, my insurance agency will be bombarded with business.
I was an intern at the bank, the only one in town, this past summer and as far as I know the town loves me. So the main thing that I am trying is to be infront of people and have them know who I am and what I do.
There is a lot of money in Farming around here... but I have to wait to meet them until after harvest.
How does that sounds and do you have any advice for me?
So am I starting out as an Agent and I am trying to concentrate in Group & Individual Health and Life. Where can I find out what "Actually" is going on with health care, especially in Minnesota and North Dakota? And How will it effect myself, as an agent, and my clients?
I have been trying to read up on it, but there is so much information out there and I am starting to have a hard time to determine what is actually going to happen versus someones opinion.
Can someone give me actuall answers?
In North Dakota, Blue Cross Blue Shield has a near monopoly, insuring around 80-90% of the state. But with the addtion of Sanford Health into North Dakota and Minnesota and its vast expansion. It could be a major player in Health Insurance.
Does anyone know how they fair as far as their rates go? Especially their Group Health product?
Sanford is a Hospital based out of Sioux Falls, SD. I know they have ties with southwest MN, I don't know about the rest of the state. But I know they are expanding/buying out a lot of hospitals, especially in ND.
They also provide their own insurance: medicare supplements, individual, and group. Which is why I am so interested in Sanford. Hopefully they can Match and Beat Blue Cross Blue Shield!
Sanford Health is a Hospital that has their own Insurance Department. They are based out of Sioux Falls, SD and are expanding/buying out in MN and ND, especially in ND. I don't know if they are in your region, Full Throtle, but I know they have ties already in SouthWest MN.
