What are some changes you are making in 2016 to make sure your agency continues to grow the way you want it to?

What did you try new last year that worked and what did you try new last year that didn't work?

I am writing very little non standard, I kind of slowed down on that in the fall. Yes I a writing a lot less but what I am writing is better quality. I am also not asking for referrals from non- standard "bum" types anymore. I always got their referrals but they were more problem type customers.

I fired a bunch of customers this last month. Its very liberating not hearing my phone ring first thing in the morning with the same people over and over complaining about their bills.

I have been doing the walk-ins since the fall and it has now started to pay off. Walked in to mortgage, banks and any small business around my neighborhood. I plan on doing more of that. Just dropped off a generic like flyer and a few business cards.

I also plan on making more cold calls to set a better example to my assistant what I expect from her. I also moved my desk into the same room with her, one so she can hear me on the phone and learn and two so I can greet my own customers more often instead of always being in my office in back.

I am going to optimize my business using some software solutions and fire a couple of employees who don't work good..

Good to know.

Mine is getting my first CSR. I think the initial training period is going eat up a lot of time but once he/she is familiar with the system and licensed, it's going to help me get where I need to be.
