I think what some people are misunderstanding is that JD never said he took 10 fresh leads that he had just gotten. Sat down and called all of them and 7 picked up and he got 6 appointments.

He said he's taken 15 leads a week for 17 years and sets about 12 appointments.

That seems logical to me. If you have been in the business writing 300k plus every year and consistently taken 60 leads a month you can certainly get 6 appointments set the next day by calling for 90 mins. He has plenty of leads and referrals to call on. And probably plenty of people calling him consistently.

There is no secret. He's not getting more people to pick up the phone than anyone else. But he's not lying.

Obviously there is some different thoughts on how qualified an appointment is or how vague someone might be on the phone.

But logic tells me that they are not qualified appointments. Why would you take the time to qualify them and then book an appointment. If you got that far into a presentation you might as well just do an e app and voice signature. So obviously they're vague on the phone.

And I imagine a lot of appointments are no shows.

Nothing on this thread is new info.

What I have noticed is that the forum has changed. It has always been a recruiting forum but there still used to be people sharing good information.

Phone scripts. Appointment scripts. What they say for various objections. Sales presentations. Daily activity.

now its all if I told you my special sales secrets I'd have to kill you bs. It wasn't like that before no matter what anyone says.

It used to be a good place for a new agent to get good information or stay up to date on the market.

It just plain sucks now. And this thread proves exactly why this forum sucks for new and old agents alike.

if you're a new agent reading this. No one cares about you unless you work with them. No one will help you. And as soon as you don't work with them anymore you're dead to them. That goes for agents, agencies, clients. And most importantly carriers.

The worst thing you're doing as a new agent is looking this forum.

It's the only way for them to feel good.

What a shame. I feel sorry for them.

It's an outlet for men who have no life,emasculated at home,living the life no more than a beast of burden with plenty of time to kill.

I disagree with the idea that the site is no longer useful to new agents.

The old information you referenced is still on the site (as far as I know).

I can't speak specifically to FE, but I do see information being offered and exchanged in other areas.

That's true. And it's mostly because almost no producers post here. Years ago there were many.


You can count the FE producers that post here regularly on one hand and have finders left.

Most of posters in the FE forum don't even sell life insurance, much less FE.

Some that post in this forum have never even written one FE application.

Bucket dippers can only last so long if there are no bucket fillers.

I miss the old days. Back then, if you had a beef you would just go outside and settle it.

Maybe that's why I still have a charge account with a bail bondsman.
