Pregnancy Coverage - Kaiser Permanente Application Denied

Most of us responding to your post are health ins agents.
Not a consumer like you.

Actually not true, we are actully consumers who happen to be agents. It seems the poster feels this decision was unfair, and they want to know if something like this has happened before, either to us or any of our clients.

To answer that, yes we get clients who are denied, but like Somarco says, KP usually won't run MIB, so you might want to review the meds your wife has been taking, or even if she was given a prescription she didn't fill. It might not seem like a big deal to you, but could have a potential risk for KP that they are unwilling to take on.

We do occasionally get appeals overturned (just had one last month with Humana). Review exactly why she was denied, then you can tackle it from that end with your doctor, especially if you feel it is inaccurate. Happens all the time, like Yagents said. If that's the case, I would think that would be more difficult to fix, but not my area of expertise.

That being said, there are other ways to pay for maternity other than just getting maternity coverage.
