Problem with Calling Leads

Here is a scenario that happens to me sometimes and I wanted to get your opinion on what you do. Sometimes I'll call a lead to schedule an appointment and they'll have something going on the next day so they can't be seen. I'll usually tell them I'll call again the next day or day after to schedule the appointment. They agree, but then won't answer my calls after several attempts. Do you just drop by, or do something else? To me they're screaming "not really interested" at that point.

I think you might need some training.

These people are always busy... In their own minds. They will block out a whole day for a doctors appointment.

When somebody tells me over the phone that they'll be busy the next day I'll say, "Oh yeah, what you got going on? Oh you have a doctors appointment. What time is that at? Oh 10 AM, so you'll be back by two or 3 PM so I'll just pencil you in for that time. And like I said it only takes a few minutes. I'm just there to drop off the information that your qualified to receive. Now let me confirm your address..."

Also, tone and inflection is important here and you can't teach that across a website. Like I said I think you need some training.

For you guys that work leads. What are the chances of getting someone back on the phone after talking to them? I would think it would be rare to get ahold of them again.

You definitely need to strike while the iron is hot. Plus, even if you do get a hold of them a second time, even if they were all nice to you the first time and sounded cordial, they will be ice cold the next time you call.

Good stuff^^^^^^

Take control nicely and ask question then work around the answers.

Great stuff from Hoosierlife and like she said, you need some hands on training from your upline on the little things that occur in a live fire exercise.

For instance, think of every interaction with a prospect like a game of battle ship. Instead of guessing where their ships are during the phase of setting an appt, You've got to spike their interest, dig lightly yet persistently for the time they WILL be available at home and their agreement to be there. If they interrupt with a reason for being unavailable, overcome it or ignore it and get right back to your goal. Nothing more nothing less.

Did you just call me a girl?!?!

Its a rare gift to be able to call them again and book it, some can, my wife can, but she is goooooooood. All in all hit them hard the first time, after all, Mildred is the one who filled the card out and mailed it back or took the phone call, play that hand, it works.

This was a $35 internet lead and I got it on a Thursday evening and called Friday. Should have probably waited until Monday but I wanted to get on it. Yep, I'm sure your wife is good, but if they don't answer a second time, you have no chance of resetting the appointment. I suppose you could try calling from a different number, but I figure if you have to pull that kind of crud just to get an appointment with 'em, they probably aren't serious, or they'll drop the coverage quickly.

It doesn't matter how good you are if they don't answer the phone. Unfortunately it seems more and more people aren't answering #'s they don't know. Heck I bet 99% of people on here don't either. Door knocking skills will divide the agents who suceed and the ones who fail.
