Referrals direct from carrier

I try my BEST to place them with the company that gave it to me. Otherwise, you can kiss them good bye in the future

To me that goes without saying. Which is also why it is an issue when they don't qualify. They get confused and the company generally isn't happy either.
 
I think sometimes they give referrals to agents who are somewhat loyal to the brand in general. I might get a Med Supp referral because I submitted some Med Sups with that same carrier earlier that month. I had one RD give me a referral and admitted they weren't competitive in that age group, but told me "do what you can". He was right, they weren't competitive at all, but I still tried. Still, I think it speaks well of an RD who gives referrals to agents as a reward for sending business their way. I like that.
