Setting Appointments ByCold Calling

About 120 dials. A manager at the division office said I would be fine only doing 50/ day. But I ran the numbers and realized I really need to be doing more like 250. On top of all f the other stuff they want me to be doing.

On warm leads maybe 50/day would be fine, you should be doing closer to 120/hour if you're cold calling to generate leads.

That gryphon system sounds pricey.

How would you be able to make 120/hour. I spent 3 hours one day and was able to only make 115 dials with 2 appointment.

Using a dialer system, like the one I offer at Welcome to AffordableDialer.com. I just launched the site, but I've been using a version of this for about four years now and I'm thrilled to be able to offer it. What it does is it dials out multiple lines at a time and then connects you with people as they pick up. That same 115 dials would take you about an hour running on a dialer, maybe a touch longer.

Two options really... 1) generate your own leads with a dialer or 2) pay for leads, pre-set appts, transfers. Hand-dialing is very demotivating and a time killer.

Any dialer will jumpstart your sales... more calls... more leads... more sales. Do you have the time to make your own calls? OR... do you have the time to train and manage your own telemarketer and the money to pay them?

If you don't have the time then perhaps buying leads, pre-set appts or transfers is the best option... to start. I've done both and obviously many pros and cons to all. You may not be able to set 12 appts per week, but you can get there is you commit to lead generation every day and every week. That's the key...whether you have a good day or bad day always build that pipeline of leads.

Maybe I would start by asking which you have more of... time or money? Nothing to say you can't do more than one lead gen method... I would encourage it as you never want to put all your eggs in one basket. I think there are some questions you need to ask yourself to get a clearer picture. And if you're still a little indecisive then a good plan today is better than a great plan tomorrow... get something started.

Thanks everyone for your advice and insight. It's very helpful.

Right now I definitely have an abundance of time, money...not so much. However I do have enough to invest in a dialer, which I think is a great idea, so thanks all who suggested it. What other inexpensive ways a besides calling, can I generate leads?

Dumb question but do you use a dialer only when using other people on the phones, if not what do you do if more than one line picks up?

On another note has anyone used Skype for making calls?

If multiple people pick up then it goes into a recording and most of the time they just hang up. Per FCC regulations that can happen no more than 3% of the time and as long add you're keeping an eye on it the situation is pretty easy to avoid.

I love Skype, but it's terrible for cold calls. Their fair usage clause on their "unlimited" plan limits you to 50 calls per day.

Don't you know there is no such thing as a dumb question. I agree with Josh on Skype though I do use it regularly.

The way a dialer handles multiple lines is very important and you should ask lots of questions how they work. Some dialers will just hang up on the "other" lines. Some will play an on-hold messages on the "other" lines. Some auto-pause dialing after a cycle if you're still on your "live" call. How they handle on-hold calls is crucial so ask lots of questions.

It is important for a dialer to have FTC/FCC safeguards in place for time-zone protection, 3% threshold monitoring, auto-pausing features, etc. Not only is it important to stay in compliance, but you don't want to miss opportunities.

Wouldn't this be "ROBO-CALLING" if you go right into an automated (recorded) message?
