Tech - Love/Hate

My old Laptop is on the verge of going out.

Had to buy a new one. LOVE the better graphics, speed and looks. HATE having to spend days doing a clean install of all my software.

I know some of you techie types can probably press a key or two and it is done as you sleep. I am not that bright. I will be drinking early today.

I am going back to Rate Books.

Don't worry, by the time you get everything installed, the speed will be gone, the looks will be gone due to spilling your drinks on it and the graphics will be blurry from drinking to much.

Could have just kept the old one....

I sell with a pen and a legal pad and I write down my appointments on a calendar. I'm only in my 30's but I just don't get the tech thing. I've tried it and it always seems to cost me time (and headaches) as opposed to saving time.

better hope you saved the cd's that you installed all the stuff with....

I just had to do it the other day..and my old ms office still works on window 7....

Oh Man. That caused my biggest problem.

3 weeks ago I bought a Quad, 6 gig, terabit(sp), premium sound, 24" monitor, 64 bit Win7 machine. Stinkin problems from the get. The biggest was trying to load all the old Office programs so that I could load my Office 7 upgrade. If you do not take out the included 2010 demo. You are screwed.

After loading and re formatting twice tech support figures out that the problem was the machine. Back to Costco and a Dell laptop. Just finished loading it up.

its annoying sorting your new laptop but as soon as its done then its sorted for a number of years
