Hey guys, Im trying to be proactive and take control over my lack of training situation at the independent agency I work at. Im not sure what programs would be worthwhile for me, so I was hoping to get some feedback. I have my P&C licence right now, so I was thinking about doing a ACSR course in personal and commercial lines and getting accredited through the Big I Virtual University. Travelers is also having a 3 week training course for new producers for commercial lines at the end of the year, not sure if Im going to attend but Id like to since the program is free for me.
I bought some books, the Wedge, Insurance Commander, and So you Want to Be an Insurance Agent in the last couple months. Books help, but they only go so far, as do the training courses.
Right now Im trying to be a sponge and learn as much as possible, through education and experience.
I dont know how much these courses are gonna do, Im sure Ill get something out of it. What Im looking for is a combination of learning the product, and how to sell it.
Thanks guys.
