wet macular degeneration

My mother is 94 1/2 on federal BCBS. I used to take for several years to get her injections at the doctors office. The last time I took her there was about three years ago. She is legally blind now. This is to the best of my knowledge as personal experience. Years ago there was nothing that could be done and the injections were a huge step. It slows it but if you live long enough there is nothing that can stop it. My guess would be yes they are ongoing until you are blind. It is hereditary from what I am told and I have been diagnosed for the beginning stages. Hopefully there is more research and advancements coming.
