What Are the Cheapest Leads?

Looking to get started with the smallest investment possible, what would be the cheapest kind of leads?

Door knocking and networking compete with each other. Your only hard cost is the cost of transportation.

The next least expensive way would be to get some type of a marketing list, you can get a certain number for free each day through the library (not DNC scrubbed on the consumer) or manta (business only). You can also look at companies like mine (Affordable Marketing Lists) or monthly subscription type sites such as infofree.com or salesgenie.com.

The next level would be aged leads, this would be the first level that some people would actually consider leads. StellarProspects.com and AgedLeadStore.com are both well respected.

As far as real-time leads go, HometownQuotes.com is the best vendor I've ever worked with, but that's probably going to be the most expensive out of the list.

I have no problem cold calling out of the phone book but you can't do that because of the do not call list right? Or do you just cross-reference?

When you buy a list of 1000 leads for $59 bucks, are these people that requested a quote at some point, maybe long ago? Do you call and say I'm following up on your request for an insurance quote or is it much colder than that?

I checked out affordable marketing lists and don't see any health insurance leads. What is happening with health insurance leads and health insurance reform.

Is the cost of health insurance leads going way down since so many more people will need to buy health insurance?

Door knocking is the cheapest.....unless you subscribe to the idea that time is money. In which case, it's pretty expensive :twitchy:

Yes, I guess it depends on how far along you are in the biz. I told my wife that I was going to take a list and start knocking on doors to sell insurance. Tired of being in an office all the time. Before I could finish the statement she said: You can't afford it.
