If a condo's master policy is "Bare Walls", does it cover drywall?
Ours needs to be replaced and I want to know if we should make a claim to the building's insurance.
Our own insurance says they don't cover it. Thanks for your input!

The term "bare walls" does not appear in any insurance policy that I know of. What the master policy and the unit policies cover depends on the CC&Rs definitions of "unit" and "common elements" and who or what the CC&Rs say is responsible for each.

"Bare walls" in the vernacular generally means that the condo association covers the building structure up to and including the drywall.

If that's how your CC&Rs are written then, no, your HO-6 does not cover drywall. The association policy, or funds, would have to cover drywall repairs.

Read your CC&Rs to see what applies to your condo.

Adjuster Jack Said it: "Read your CC&Rs to see what applies to your condo."

To many consumers (and agents) get caught up in terms and ideas that are NOT listed in the CC&Rs. The CC&Rs rule.

What happened that your drywall needs to be replaced? Also you need to check and see if there is a deductible on the master policy which you are responsible for.

Saw the title and thought it would cover a wall that had no pictures or decoration on them...…. (Not a P&C guy … can you tell? )

Still wish we had more information on why drywall needs to be replaced and how much needs replacing. It could well be not a covered loss by either the master or individual policy and submitting claims for non-insurance issues is a waste of everyone's time
