I am new to Final Expense and am trying to give really competitive rates to my customers. I've noticed that Oxford offers very low rates compared to what I've been offering them (Foresters, RNA). Do the more "expensive" companies offer something else or does Oxford fall short in any way?

just interested....what is the age group for FE.......

Oxford is good, their underwriting is strict but I've never had any problems with them. I don't love the phone interview.

If you're nervous about the clients health, put them with a different carrier.

Biggest reason to not use them is that they are not an A rated carrier.

They do have very good rates for older folks, but, that E&O thang with carriers that are not A rated is a big one.

they are a bitch to try and surrender. I have replaced a few over the years, and they are harder to get a cash value surrender out of than an indexed annuity (I'm not kidding).

Oxford does have great rates, but like it has been said they our strict on underwriting. Oxford is one of carriers our IMO uses. If your our looking for a different top rated carriers, a great lead program, good commissions and excellent customer service feel free to call me. If anything I can give you some advice.

Do you have any personal experiences with this?

My E & O covers B+ on up and Oxford is B++.
I personally like Oxford. The only bad thing I know of with them is if you have downline agents

When I first had Oxford they contacted me directly and told me they that my upline wasn't hitting goals so if I wanted to keep my contract with them my commission would be reduced if I stayed with the FMO or I could go direct with them at the same.
A year or so later I moved my contract over to another FMO that was a friend of mine and a year later got the same letter again as did all his agents before he even knew there was a problem.
Bottom line, as an individual agent I like them but if you are going to have a downline you BETTER hit any goals you agree to.

Do you have any personal experiences with this?

Do I have any experience with them not being A rated? Yes. They are not.

Do I have any experience with E&O claims? No, fortunately I do do not.

I do know that many E&O carriers do not cover you if you write companies that are not A rated.

There are too many companies out there that are A rated to fool with one that's not.
