Why Are So Many Agents Lazy?

As the British would say Righty O. I am more concerned with my kidneys functioning correctly than I am with how my reproductive organs work these days.

Sadly I am also married and that part of my anatomy seems to have just one use now.

Because that's how the insurance business works.

Its people in life who are producers and consumers. Most people in our country are consumers.

It has nothing to do with democrat or republican. We have a LAZY entitled society as a whole where people are afraid to tell you its "HARD WORK" Hard Work isn't something to be expected or proud of. We have a society of button pushers and pill poppers. Sell it over the telephone don't go see them in person. Overweight? Don't work out, pop this pill you'll lose weight.

Without bashing or arguing part of the reason insurance agents are so lazy is because many companies make them lazy. You as a Joe Blow can go online today without any experience or you can write 35K in AP for an entire year. Some joker will give you a 125% contract and tell you you can get rich by selling it over the phone.

Too many people have those contracts and BELIEVE ME when I tell you 80% of guys who have over 100% ARE NOT WORTH IT. Some are, the vast majority ARE NOT.

Another point, I've seen it over and over in my career whether with LHL, Baltimore life or whoe ever. People work harder when you give them a ladder to climb and incentives. When you start a guy past 110, :D don't expect much.

Overall though as I've said before, most agents are intellectually and down right physically lazy. Self gratification comes NOW, I have no record to show I write worth a crap but I'M ENTITLED TO IT because that other company says they'll give it to me.

I want 25 free leads a week, 120% with 15% back end renewals, I want to work 3 days a week and make 200k a year. Thats what I DESERVE. LOL!!!!!!

That's why and its the truth no matter what they guys tell you.

I don't know why you guys pick on Obi. With 116 million written sales per year, LH should have a policy in every home by the end of 2015! Then another FE Agent will just have to enter the home with various alternatives, trying to conceal his giddiness.

You can do better than be a replacement artist.

Why won't it dawn on you that yes, we are growing faster than any other FE company. It should dawn on you that our company gets you to the door. These other guys just hand you a contract. And if you're a guy and thats all you need fine, I celebrate your success. But far too many here are PART TIME and talking side ways because instead of working full time in a system, they'd rather work part time and make less.

Its like I said, too many here have 110s and 125s and aren't worth it. No where near worth it.


I don't see part time doctors, part time dentists, part time shade tree mechanics and I don't hire part time agents. With my experience in this field that 8 to 12 you write 50% of it comes off the books and you have charge backs clogged up all over the place. Its the reason you arent' full time.

A good idea this for this forum is to create a PART TIME agent section.

Its great independent agents, WHO ARE EXCEPTIONS to the rule. Most folks needs a system and those who work hard on our system make just as much as the indpendent guy.

I am not going to get into this debate about LH vs being independent but what this guy Obi Won is saying is the truth. You successful independ guys are extremllyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy rare. Below is my original quote at the start of this thread.

Americans are lazy period. We live in the greatest country, I am extremely proud to be American, but that doesn't mean our people aren't stupid as bricks. We have the fattest, laziest, dumbest, most entitled, weakest people on earth.

Now throw in the fact that you field guys drive to the ghettos, work long hours, work late hours, work far from home, come out of pocket for all your expenses, talk to the dumbest of the dumbest people (FE people), you have to work in all weather conditions, and the list goes on and on. I highly respect what you successful field agents do because its not a pretty process. So given these conditions, is it any wonder why Americans rarely ever do FE successfully let alone anything that requires sacrifice and full time effort?

I for one am not surprised.

99.99823432% of americans out there do not and will not succeed in an independent free environment for the reasons I stated above. I am not advocating LH for a true independent go getter person who can and will be accountable to himself. But, if you are in fact not a person like that, a company like LH is a good fit for you because of their system (or any company that has a system in place to make up for your short comings as a weak ass mother *****).

You successful independent guys who do field sales, I salute you because you are a rare dying breed in this world of losers.
 
LH doesn't have a system. You get 70-80% contracts and then a bunch of DM leads that you go door knock. For a few days you have a "mentor" with you to show you the ropes. The only "system" in place is you're financing the leads and LH teaches/expects/requires you (as a rookie) to check in, run those leads, call a manager before you leave if you couldn't close the deal.

Now this is true work and LH will set you up to be actually working 40+ hours/wk.

Here's the kicker tho, all this "system" does is weed out people very quickly. Which is a good thing, but LH isn't keeping agents worth a damn. It's churn and burn all day and they keep at it because every once in a blue moon someone sticks around that drinks the kool-aid.

If LH had a great system they wouldn't be looking for agents every single freakin day.

The end result is new agents get a bad taste in their mouth for this industry and damn it forever. Sometimes someone sees the potential for more and seeks out places like this forum to see if there is a better way than just door knocking high cost (financed) leads with a low contract. And then the most rare of all a LH agent makes it to the big leagues and then he does the recruiting and training of fresh churn and burn rookies.

Nothing more to it than that. But volume is volume and LH makes bank.

Your not my friend and no one likes you. I love being part time earning full time, it gives me the ability to combat morons like you who write novels of BS about their "opportunity". Never been with LH but I know the smell and you smell of it pretty badly. Have a nice life OBI...and remember "May The Farce Be With You", cause it is a FARCE.:D:D

Not as rare as you think...Maybe you are not hanging around or socializing with the right people. Just a thought, no ill will meant.

No ill will taken :) I actually protect my sphere of influence heavily. I don't hang around losers because I don't want to pick up their habits. I am basing my opinion on my experience in the sales industry. I am only 30 and I have been in sales now for about 10 years. Not super long compared to some of you guys, but a decent amount to observe common trends.

I have been in multiple endeavors where people have had the chance to achieve something awesome. The thing is when you give people freedom and they are required to be accountable to themselves and their goals, they fold and they fold fast. Most, and I firmly believe its like 98% of people out there, most people just don't have the required mindset, fortitude, resilience, and proper attitude when they have nothing to be accountable to other than their own goals. This is why a "job" is the go to medium for most people to earn a living. A W2 job forces people to comply and thus they do. If they were not forced to, a vast majority of them would sink.

The job independent sales rep have in FE (or any sales endeavor that comes with freedom) will not work for most people simply because they are weak and they cant be accountable to them self when nobody is there or something isn't there to force them to.

I do telesales so its far easier for me to make calls daily all day selling this stuff. However what you field sales guy do is far more taxing and challenging on multiple levels. It comes as no surprise to me that FE agencies grow so slow because its so damn hard to find people who are willing to grind like you guys do given the circumstances you work in.

If I wasn't doing telesales now, I would certainly be willing to do field sales. However since I know I can do it at a high level, screw that field stuff :)
