I have been talking myself into a tablet that I could use with my rooted phone while out on calls.

I was reading this article on the mobile broadband :Averting a spectrum disaster: Now for the hard part | Mobile - CNET News
And I am think oh great now I may have a problem logging on to the company sites to run quotes. Then I see that HP may be releasing a Windows tablet.

Sounds like the best of both worlds to me.

One thing I've learned the hard way is to QUIT being an early adapter. I had one of the 1st attempts of Windows Tablets (Tablet PC) and was very disappointed.

I tried Windows Mobile. ...pure garbage.

Does anyone remember the Windows Zoon music player? That lasted about 5 minutes.

I finally accepted the Apple dominance. Everything works very nicely. I'm sure Android does also.

My advice...stay away from anything new with Windows until it is tried and true for at least a couple of years.

That's good advice. Even when a new windows operating system comes out, it's best to wait until they release the first service pack.

HP has had the "Slate" tablet with Windows 7 for a while. Getting it with Windows 8 shouldn't be a big deal.

Oh, and speaking of Windows 8, I see absolutely no appeal to switching to using it... and that's me speaking as an early adoptor of windows OS. I bought Windows XP once it came out. I bought Vista on a new computer a few years ago. Once I found 7 Pro on ebay for cheap, I snatched it up. My only regret was Vista. I was just glad that the computer had XP drivers available so I could 'downgrade'.

Yeah, I probably will wait to see how it shakes out. If it works out it should be a better Insurance tool for me. In the mean time I may wait till Ipad III comes out and pick up an Ipad II or Android cheap.

I can't believe they are fixing to release IPAD3. I'm still on ipad1.

Why do I always feel like as soon as I buy the lastest new thing, it will be outdated within a month or two.

Same issue with cells phones too.

I have an iphone 3g. I was going to upgrade with the 3gs came out, then iphone 4 but I had to go over exactly what I use it for:

Making calls
Playing with a few apps
Some modest mobile web surfing

That's about it. So I'll just keep it for the next 10 or so years.

Exactly. Bought daughter and myself IPad 2's in November, Black Friday. Decided I wanted one with Verizon 3g so I bought one Monday. Afterwards daughter tells me the I Pad3 is coming out soon. Didn't the 2 just come out last fall? Doesn't sound like good planning on Apple's part.
