Windows Based Tablet

Exactly. Bought daughter and myself IPad 2's in November, Black Friday. Decided I wanted one with Verizon 3g so I bought one Monday. Afterwards daughter tells me the I Pad3 is coming out soon. Didn't the 2 just come out last fall? Doesn't sound like good planning on Apple's part.

Works. Iphone 5 is about to come over the horizon and the lemmings are lining up outside Best Buy now.

What could you do with a windows tablet that you can't do with an ipad? I don't own either but am thinking about buying one.

Why is a tablet better than a small laptop or netbook?

I realize that opening the computer up and having a keyboard might be difficult, but I'm willing to spend as much time as you need to help you learn to use one.

Most importantly for me is running Compulife, Winfex and insurance company software without having to worry about a WiFi signal. I know that Compulife can be put on a thumb drive as a work around.

Insurance companies are windows based still. I am an Insurance Agent. Not a FE agent, Term insurance agent or traditional life agent. I will be adding Med Sups this year. I truly cross sell life insurance on a regular bases. I like to have all my tools available.

I carry a laptop or a netbook in almost every meeting. But I like the idea of having signable forms at my fingertips. Without having to use a signature pad. Being that I cross sell so much I need a lot of different forms.

I saw a commercial for a really thin laptop. That may be my solution for a while if I can get on in a 12" at a reasonable price.

For 49.95 I can teach you how a $200 signature pad solves your problems.

It is great planning. They are raking the phone companies. AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, etc. are subsidizing the iPhones and iPads so you will get a contract. Then Apple just releases another one, and since you want the latest and greatest, AT&T subsidizes it again. Apple is laughing all the way to the bank.

Wino, how many products do you cross-sell per appointment?

It really varies by the appointment. And if they are current clients, referrals or orphans. Example is Sunday. I went out to do a SIWL app on an existing client. While I am there we start talking about different family members And I wind up quoting her 23 year old niece and her kids. We wound up doing a non med ROP term with WP and Child riders. I was over 100 miles from home. A couple weeks ago I was over 200 miles from home doing a SIWL deal and wound up also selling a couple GULs and a couple juvenile WL policies on the ladies Daughter and Son in Law and grandkids. When I met with the owner of the SIWL policy I wound up writting a couple GULs with Child riders and quoting a underwritten WL on the wife's mother. It gets freak'n complicated. You asked.

If I am doing it from my office on the phone, which is the norm, it is a piece of cake. On the road, not so much. If I do not have the apps and forms I need I have to mail or email them later.

Edit: Wait till I add Med Sups. Then I may buy a motorhome.

I have an iphone 3g. I was going to upgrade with the 3gs came out, then iphone 4 but I had to go over exactly what I use it for:

Making calls
Playing with a few apps
Some modest mobile web surfing

That's about it. So I'll just keep it for the next 10 or so years.

The part you are leaving out though is you can upgrade to the NEWEST iphone for ($199?) and sell yours on ebay for $299.

It doesn't make sense but it works every time.
