Today, I lost 3 clients because their zipcode wasn't included in their county for a MA dual plan. They wanted to use a friend or family member as their residence with a zip code that is covered, but they don't know anyone locally. Is there a work around for this? thanks

Don't get into business with clients that will lie to Medicare/Social Security. Lying about one's address to take advantage of other plans is against the rules. If you KNOW about it, are part of the process, you could be liable. Back away from anyone like that.

How can you lose 3 clients because they aren't in the service area? They shouldn't have been enrolled in the first place to become clients.

I would think that before you complete an application you should learn whether the policy is available or not. Part of knowing what you're doing.

The fault is with the agent, not the client.

I can't write someone in Los Angeles with a plan that is only available in San Diego.

Sure you can. They just use a friend's address in San Diego.:1baffled:

If you use an address on a MA app different from with CMS has, you have problems.
To solve the problem of the OP, have your clients put the wheels back on their trailers, hitch up to their pick up and move.

Just to clarify, I was joking with Rick and making fun of the statement about they couldn't find a friend's address to use. Never, ever do that!!

I hate the MIPPA bs, but this is a prime example of why it happened.

I saw an agent in the life forum say that people just could say were "on vacation" in the state you are licensed in so that they could take an app there instead of the home state.

That's the stuff that gives us all a bad name.
