2021 AHIP...

Remember though MA is a lot different than Med Supp

It's not always about the best benefits, Sometimes its network, Sometimes drug cost, Sometimes The prospect hates a company for some reason or another, Or only interested in what betty down the block has, A number of other factors as well

It's good to have a few of the top choices

I started with network and drug costs, and then worked out. I don't like having a ton of carriers. I do analysis of the carriers and plans before I contract with them.

In my opinion, that's why people chose to use me.. at least that's how I position myself.

If that means my 2 or so carriers don't fit their needs, I'm happy to refer them out to someone who has the plan they want.

I'm sure in a year or two you can add two or three more carriers you don't need a ton You definitely don't want to add a carrier for one deal year either

Priority health is big up there I remember haven't called Michigan in a while though there was another one that's big in Michigan can't remember the name of it because it's not nationwide think it was called hap Maybe Not sure but when I called Michigan they were everywhere

I don't think I wrote more than one Medicare advantage in Michigan all the time either did mostly Mets up at that time AARP had the market on both F and N. It was either three or four years ago

Hap, priority, and BCBS are the biggies for MA.

Priority has done a large revamp of their system. This is the first year they have a statewide PPO zero premium plan.

Up north, most of our people are snowbirds. So when I was looking for MA plans they had to have out of state, nationwide in network doctors visits.

Priority has unlimited, 12m coverage for out of state being in network cost. As long as they accept Original Medicare.

Drug plan is decent. I'm waiting to look at the formulary 2021 formulary, but it's usually pretty solid.

AARP, Priority, and BCBS are the big Medigaps and they get pricey at 70.

Obviously, as time goes on new plans and companies with specialized underwriting will come out, which will force me to add different carriers.

I use CSO, although I'm contracted with other companies.. Consistently they outperform in price.

MA has spread up here like wildfire. Our penetration rate is in the upper 30's throughout the state. There's only a few areas it's in the upper 20's.

That's why I started offering MA.

I had one guy I couldn't write last year because AFIB that's resolved with ablation with medication completely gone. I shopped him all over the place and couldn't get him a really decent rate (or approved at all.)

On top of that, about 40% of calls I got were people looking for MA.

Travis... which AHIP review class did you take.. Website? There seem to be a few.. I haven't taken it in 2 years and need a suggestion as to what website you used that helps you breeze through it..

None. I took AHIP straight up. Literally do the review questions at the end of each part and take notes on the review. You shouldn't have any issues.
