Anybody has a good alliance reference? I'm switching from captive to independent and looking for good ground to start. General Agents are not satisfying my requirements.

Hey man,

Check out SIAA or any affiliate with them. I went through an alliance called MIAA (from the Midwest) and it's worked out great. I've had a great relationship with them so far and most importantly, they leveraged direct carrier appointments without having any book of business. This was huge for me.

Premier Group Insurance.

Do your home work. There are groups out there that range from Good, Better, and Best.

The Best groups should be able to provide you four significant deliverables:

Transparency
Carrier Alignment
Training and Support
An Industry Leading Contract

Premier was my second option and definitely not a bad choice.

I think you guys are just now getting into my area (MO/KS/Kansas City Metro), so I wasn't too comfortable with it but as far as the contract goes, it wasn't too bad of a deal.

I'd reach out to this guy and see what he has to offer as well.

All I can say is TAKE YOUR TIME and really do a lot of vetting. This is a life long relationship technically and you don't want to get into a deal where you are stuck.

Biggest questions I would ask is how are these alliances going to get you PREFERRED (or standard) appointments. Getting non-standard appointments is a breeze and often doesn't require much. It's the quality companies that you will want to ask about. These will be your multi-line and retention building companies.

Thank you!

Do you have a link to Premier Group Insurance alliance. I only found agency web sites that offer insurance products to the public.

I'm in California.

Off the top of my head, I think we have 4 or 5 PGI agents in KS and MO.

Glad to hear we are in the mix.

Tyler has GREAT advice, slow down, take your time, read and understand the contracts.

We have 20+ agents in CA.
