I am very new. Only 5 applications submitted and 2 were declined with ANICO due to their medical history. One had a stroke last year and upcoming tests. The other one was born with Polio and is mentally unstable. Is their only option guaranteed insurance?
Yes. Those two are tough ones. Recent major health issues are a challenge when writing life, as are birth defects. You may want to carry a couple of final expense/GI plans in your bag for these occasions.
The person who had the stroke last year will need to go with guaranteed issue for now. Once you get a year or two past the stroke, there will be some other simplified options open up.
The person who was born with polio (not sure how that was possible) and mentally unstable could possibly get a plan other than guaranteed issue. If the mental illness is controlled he/she could even get possibly get a medically underwritten plan.
Getting a full health history is important, even when selling final expense plans.
