As I See It: Understanding Medicare Advantage

Your telling bullshit lies . Distorting the truth . I write mapd in every county within 70 miles of Atlanta . 99.5% of drs take either Humana , United , Aetna or wellcare . Matter of fact I can hardly recall 1 time all peoples drs not being in either United or Humana’s network . Humana has a $2900 moop for 2023 with $0 copays at all drs in or out of network .I’m replacing tons of of med sups with it . You’ve never sold a mapd and you have zero authority to talk about it . This applies to the smallest county’s in Ga . Matter of fact drs in small county’s must take mapd to survive . There’s so much mapd penetration due to low income people

I also do a fair amount in N. Georgia. myself...

Most choose MAPD and are very pleased with the plans.

I take apps in EVERY county in Georgia and 99.5% take Medigap. Many of them have talked with friends and don't want anything to do with MAPD.

No bullshit . . .

It is relatively easy to find PCP's who participate in MAPD, at least in the metro area . . . not as much in more rural areas.

Specialists are another matter regardless what part of the state. Folks tell me with some frequency they have difficulty getting into see a specialist when they have MAPD, and they will be put on a waiting list. A couple of ladies a few months ago in Macon mentioned they could not get into see an orthopod for at least 6 months.

Perhaps they were lying . . .

Doesn't happen with OM.

Again, no bullshit.

I am not surprised 99.5% of YOUR clients take Supps the way you talk about MAPD's in here.

If we have shortages of healthcare providers in the nation, and there are programs that reimburse doctors for tuition if they work in rural environments for x years, it seems like providers in small rural counties would be in the driver's seat talking about what insurance they accept and what they don't.

My wife's Cardiologist and my previous Pulmonologist both take 3-4 months to get an appointment.
