Assurant Health Webinar

Personally, I love it how so many "agents" are sounding like they are backing up the U-Hauls.

As for Assurant laying off all those people - that's so that the high priced VP's can keep their juicy salaries! Duh.

They have no shame.

In all seriousness, a question I would love to ask is this: Exactly how much are you cutting your PROFIT MARGINS??

This whole boondoggle was sponsored by Sen. Rockefeller (who has more money than God - never held a job). His real beef was insurance company PROFITS. Those morons literally think that 92 cents on every dollar goes toward profits.

I did see a break down of Assurant's typical income model and about 5% was dedicated to profit. Not excessive by any means, but was IT cut at all?

Doubt it.

Would have to answer to stockholders, heaven forbid.

But the first 6 months or so of 2011 are going to be very interesting, and very telling.

Just in case you missed it, and despite our President's best efforts, this is a capitalist society. The whole purpose of the company is to turn a profit. If they can't turn a profit, they might as well close the company.

actually, this is a socialistic society, driven by a communistic income-tax model.

don't believe me? check Karl Marx on the progressive income tax.

check your facts dude. don't be a mindless gutter-ball

Greaaate commish. But 14% (or 50%) of no sales due to not being competitive still is zero. Add in the dental and CI and you have boosted the income to nada. But, boy, the future looks terrific!!!!!!!!..... oops, I forgot about the Sweets........

True, however this depends on your demographic.

If your demo is shared internet leads, many women
do not care, goes back to your thesis about intelligent people don't fill out quote forms..ha.

Re: Assurant

I ran a quote in MD and w/out prior cc they jack you up around 20%.

Not in MD - still very competitive. HSA for my family - me 43, wife 48, son 9. GR is irrelevant due to that 6 month clause excluding reproductive disorders.

. . . . GR is irrelevant due to that 6 month clause excluding reproductive disorders.

GR has ALWAYS been irrelevant for precisely that reason. More than just words in a brochure or policy, it reflects the mentality of the people who run the insurance company.

For those of you who can't read between the lines, that mentality is simple and straightforward: Screw the policyholder in whatever manner possible.

I'll get some blowback on this but I don't care. I'll work with Assurant ANY DAY over GR. Assurant takes a lot of heat but I have had zero issues with them. My client stay on the books far longer with them than any other carrier since they get options as renewal to hold their premiums down.

CSDs were no gimmick. It was either A: rate up - B: rider - C: CSD. My clients chose "C" each and every time.
