Thought I would share that Avalon will underwrite someone who has been to rehab. I always have a hard time finding an option for people that have been to rehab and I just had one approved - and it had only been 2 years since he went.

Ugh, I didn't know that. This guy got rated huge too but he didn't care because he got declined from everyone else.

Didn't Humana yank out of FL a few years back?

They did, but had been only a marginal player. Came back in '03, and gave been improving steadily since. Best game in town currently.

Only one complaint: they pay SLOW. I wrote a case on 5/20, issued same day. I'll get comp for the first time on 7/16. In this day and age, no excuse for that.

They're riding the float...at the agent's expense. Poor way to do business imho.

I think they dropped 40,000 clients flat. Anyone with a pre-x is left uninsurable. But, I don't think they are leaving FL anytime soon.

But that is besides the point. They are slow to pay, painfully that is. They owe me 11 deals. I do understand they don't pay on active, but on issuance of the policy (or around the effective date), but I am finding that is inaccurate too. I have deals which when active last month, effective last month, and no money. I am going to have to hit up a loan shark to keep my business going.
