Best way to escape Vertafore's clutches?

So, been with one management system after another that kept getting gobbled up, finally I am stuck with Vertafore and their AMS360 plus their PL Rating software. To say they suck would be a gross understatement. So I plan to leave them when my contract is up in like 3 years but I have found out that they won't migrate more than 5 years of MY DATA. 30 years of paying them just to have them try to hold my data hostage to keep me from switching.

Does anyone have a strategy to counter this or am I just pretty much screwed?

I think what they're doing matches the definition of ransomware.

Especially given this... you are simply going to lose more data?

Considering the contract I don't have $36,000 to just throw away. We can survive without that data it's just far from ideal.
