Well,

I had my first day in the field yesterday, and I certainly don't have anything to complain about.

This is a part-time opportunity for me so I had limited time last week to call/set appointments. I only had two set for Saturday afternoon so, at Spur City's urging (my upline), I headed out in the morning to door knock some leads with no phone numbers.

My first day, my first door knock, my first appointment landed me $1560 in AP (of course with some great assistance from my upline while in the house).

Too early to tell, but I may just end up door knocking on Saturday's. When I was calling to set appts I did get some resistance to meeting during the week in the evenings (my only availability). It may just be better to door knock on Saturday...we will see.

Of course, there's always driving for uBer :)

Congratulations.

I remember that jazzed feeling on making a sale.

Listen to your upline, stay out of the forum drama and focus when you are working.

Whatever Spur City tells you to do, do the opposite. You should do just fine!

I closed the first appointment I ever had. It was a great feeling and confidence builder. Congratulations.

Great job, you're on your way! Besides, screw Uber. The passengers get cheap rides as the company builds its business on the backs and vehicles of the misguided drivers. Many of whom are in for a rude awakening because they "forgot" to tell their insurance carrier they were using the car for livery purposes (which of course would increase their premiums by thousands a year).:err::cry:

Not only that, Uber is busy investing in self-driving cars. Drivers are literally building a business that wants to make them obsolete. Now if you just need some quick cash and it isn't a long term thing, great. Otherwise you are working to build a business that wants to dump you as soon as it can.

Will self driving cars require special roadways? If so, for uber, wouldn't they be more like bus transportation than specific point to point transportation, for quite some time?

So far no plan for self-driving cars to have separate roadways, that is the delay so far. Were they on separate roadways, we'd already have them, but the infrastructure cost would be staggering.

As to bus transportation, unless you use the form of Uber where you can opt to share a ride, not at all. You would still hail a ride on the app just like now, and a self-driving car would pick you up and take you to your destination.

I admit I'm not the most familiar with Uber, I have only used Lyft and rarely. I believe Uber has a version in major cities where you can basically car-pool with others for a reduced rate. There may be stops along the way to pick up and drop off others.
