Had to give you some grief. The reality is, they probably are safer already. If not for all the distracted driving, traffic fatalities would be down massively due to all the technology in cars to help avoid collisions and to make those that do safer.

Blind spot monitors, lane departure warnings, pedestrian monitors, adaptive cruise control, automatic braking, and more that I'm probably not even thinking about have made driving so much safer. Sadly, distracted driving is not only erasing but reversing those gains.
