Captive P&C and Independent Life

Have my life license, but I'm considering getting my P&C as well ...can I stay independent on the life side and captive on the p&c side with a liberty mutual or the like?

A lot of captive p&c are going to have life requirements. So it would be a rare situation if you found one to let you have outside contracts. Plus they would worry you would be spending time on your Indy business and not on theirs.

Many captives have outlets to wholesalers for business that doesn't fit their market direction, but really the answer is....NO.

Not w/ Liberty. They will want you to offer only their products.

That is the opposite way I would approach it. I have no problem with captive life agents but it is tough being a captive P&C agent.
