Cold Calling Vs. Calling DM

I've got the option of having someone cold call for FE and/or call DM leads. I know cold calling is hard, but I like the idea of saving money on mailers.
What would be results of 50 calls/day vs 2000 pieces dropped/month?

Can you do both and compare results? Then let us know how it worked?

50 calls a day doesn't seem like much.

When I cold called myself I could develop 1-2 leads an hour. That was with a Dialer probably calling 200 numbers an hour.

Your $$ ROI would be higher cold calling if you're good on the phone versus DM, but honestly cold calling should be the forum approved punishment for posting stupid questions ;)

I have almost identical results. I would get a dialer and cold call for at least week to get comfortable on the phone and talking to seniors.

That may be because 50 calls a day really isn't much. If you're going to cold call you should be doing at least that many an hour.

Maybe I should clarify....50 calls with an actual conversation/day
Not counting hang ups, answering machines, etc.
Is this still too small of a number?
My experience so far with FE leads is that they are just a little better than a cold call and those that buy probably would've responded to a call. Not sure...but this is my thought.

That isn't a bad thought. My thoughts are inline with yours. Also, with TM leads that you pay for you get folks that where not interested but said yes anyways..when you call them they get defensive and say they are not interested..easy for the telemarketer, harder for the agent to actually set an apt and make a sale. If your doing everything yourself, via cold calling and then setting the apt on that call, it eliminates that aspect that you are paying for. Give me 3 months to give you an accurate number.

Call, call, and call some more. You might also want to set it around a specific amount of time, so maybe two hours a day or so.
