Constructive criticism about the forum

I think I'll do the same for Al the next time he name calls.

Don't wait Rick. Please do it NOW. Your blood pressure will drop and lord knows I won't have to spend the time defending myself from your bullying. Hey... I just compared you to a bully. So does that qualify for you to set me to "ignore"? If not tell me what I have to call you to make it so and I will most happily do whatever it takes to make you go away.

I didn't know about the "ignore" function, but I wouldn't use it anyway. For those who either can't take the heat... or who just don't want to bother... it's a good method. Me? I can take it... and return it. Like John and some others, I know that this is just a web-board and not real-life. Nothing here really matters. What is important is that you take what you can from the knowledge-base and do your best to use it to your advantage.

There are always going to be bullies, prima donnas, and malcontents on both a board and in the real world and if you can't deal with them you are probably better off not being in this business.

Okay, so I'm looking at my profile and I click "ignore" and then "save" and then

Hi Al3. Wow you've been here as long as Crabcake except he has 7,777,7777 posts and you have a respectable 1,399.
I'm with you...this thread is about criticism anyway right? If you want to start up a ponzi, you best get ready to get grilled! That ignore thing won't last long, they'd miss all the juicy banter. Good to know ya.

IBG (aka Mikey according to Crabby)

Oops, I "ignored" myself! How long was I gone! Did I miss anything? Did I post anything I didn't see?

I feel so much better. Mickey and Al on my ignore list.

Jackasses like Al and Assholes like Mikey can post all they want. Say anything about me because I DON'T GIVE A CRAP. You simply are pissing into the wind.

Rick's awfully cranky. Maybe he's on edge because Hillary will likely be VP. Or maybe his IBS is acting up.

In my long experience on the net, people are always saying "I've kill-filed this guy" and "I've set so-and-so to 'ignore' but most of them really don't. They can't. The love to fight and bicker and stir up "trouble."

Here. This final scene from Annie Hall might explain it. (If you have never seen the movie, it's a classic.)

Alvy Singer: It was great seeing Annie again and I realized what a terrific person she was and how much fun it was just knowing her and I thought of that old joke, you know, the, this, this guy goes to a psychiatrist and says, 'Doc, uh, my brother's crazy, he thinks he's a chicken,' and uh, the doctor says, 'well why don't you turn him in?' And the guy says, 'I would, but I need the eggs.' Well, I guess that's pretty much now how I feel about relationships. You know, they're totally irrational and crazy and absurd and, but uh, I guess we keep going through it...because...most of us need the eggs.
