Getting back in the business after 10 years, had success with direct mail and TV leads .
Thinking about doing a mailing, 430 $ for 1000 names list, through mutual of OMAHA for final expense.
Is anybody still using direct mail with success?or is this an outdated system?

Everyone still uses direct mail. It's by far the best lead.
But doing price per mailing is a crap shoot right now with all the political mail and Medicare seasonal mail you are competing with.
Most FE agencies have a set cost per lead mail program. You should check with who you have your contracts through to see if they offer something like that.

Set cost per lead?
Meaning only pay when a lead is mailed in?

Yes most FE focused agencies use a mail house that will mail your counties for you and you only have to pay per lead response. Our agents pay $30 and every lead had to be for ages 55 to 79. So that means if they are age 80 or above, it's free. If they are age 54 or under it's free. If the mail back a blank card, it's free. You only pay for good leads in your chosen territory and only the right ages.

The only down side is your territory might be taken. Just check with your Upline to see if they offer that. If not, feel free to give me a call. Depending on where you are located I can sometimes put you on ours if you just put some stuff with us. Or if you are captive I can give you good guidance on mail houses for independents.

This is a lead program that does a male or a of 1000 $430.

That is called price per mailing. Or price per 1000.
So if you mail 1000 and get 8 leads you paid $53.75 per lead.
If you get 15 leads you paid $28.66 per lead.
And if you get 20 leads you paid $21.50 per lead

On a set cost you pay a flat $30 per lead. But when you consider that you are only paying for REAL leads and the good ages that $30 per lead is usually best.

Thanks, will check it out.

Nowadays, an agent can get a set price lead from most of the mail houses without having to go through their upline to get it. Either way is fine, but just know you don't have to go through an IMO or FMO. Even RGI offers it direct to the agent now.
