Does losing VA coverage, while covered under MA....

I have had a few nut case clients that are worth millions that will go down and hang out at the Veterans Hospital for some free doctoring. These type of guys always carry a medicare supplement policy too. They want both. They are crazy. I let them be crazy. I don't know how to fix em nobody does. Truth is most these nut cases in the back of their head know that when the chips are down and they got they got cancer or a heart attack they don't want to have to count on the VA. Let them have both and collect your commission and don't give yourself a headache trying to figure what these loons problem is. I had a Medicare Supplement client that is loaded that likes to play this game. He calls me on Jan 2nd this year saying he had a heart attack the day after Christmas and he has already been to the Dr and his triple heart bypass is scheduled to be done in 2 days. That is why he had a supplement too so for when it was show time and the chips were down. What he wanted from me was to sign up for a drug plan so he could just go up to Hy-Vee or CVS like a civilized man and not have to jack around with the VA. Sorry man I told him but you will have to jack around with the VA for the next year because its too late to sign up now just like I told you more then once. I had told him more then once over the years that as cheap as those drug plans are he should have one since he could easily afford it. He did not listen. I did not press that hard. Now we will get him set up in November! I don't have millions but I got enough if the big one hits me tomorrow I can go right up the street to CVS and fight no crowds and they even got a drive thru. VA is for loons and guys who are piss poor broke final answer.

I could change the amounts of income and medical expenses I put in those question boxes so that the totals come out between various table amounts.

And I provided the precise information which Todd was fussing about seeing. Entering the name of the test which I put in that post will take you to the test, and the quoted text I provided is the exact text the VA system caused to be displayed on my computer screen after I completed the questionaire.

No, no you haven't. You have provided nothing of value because you don't understand the concept to begin with! You can't seem to separate eligibility with the ability to pay copays.

I really do wish you would just stop. I have never said anything bad to you up until now. It's the rest on here that have. I just couldn't stand by and abide your ignorance on this matter and I really still can't. You are like arguing with a child that only thinks they know what they are talking about.

Isn't it about time you stop playing games on here? Why would any person come on here day after day, show how ignorant they are, get told how ignorant they are, and then still come back the next day. You are beyond belief!

I really am being serious with this question and I apologize if the answer to this question is yes, but....are you mentally handicapped? If you are, I'll once again apologize to you. If you aren't.....well, if you SAY you aren't......look, just have your mommy come on and talk to us about it.

Just a wag, but it would seem you can run the report until the cows come home and never find an answer that deals with eligibility.

If you would like to duplicate those results, go to that prequalification site I referenced. Work from the basis of an honorable discharge, no other special situations, 1 dependent, no medical expenses, and a combined household income of whatever you want - at $45K or greater.

That should get you the text I posted, if it doesn't I will have to go back and see what I answered differently than stated above.

Did you ever TALK to someone or just take the passive approach (online search) and try to find answers to justify your position?

For a long time I have ignored most of your posts, which I find tedious.

And I have avoided this thread for the most part, because I know so little about VA coverage, but I "know" you and I "know" Todd . . . as much as anyone can long distance and online.

Seems to me that most of your posts are an attempt to prove your point . . . even when you are clearly in the wrong.

Seems like this is another complete waste of bandwidth and keystrokes.

From my perspective you have not landed any body blows and have completely missed in most of your retorts.

We found out he did NOT lose his VA cov'g (long story to why he thought he did)-I'm going to put him down to call in Oct. to change his Tx Plus to another MA carrier.
Thx for the advice/experiences.
And for my calling UHC to confirm QMB status-They did confirm and just asked if/when I got permission from the client (different case than the VA one-FYI).

Really? With as many vets as there are on here, do you really want to come across like that? Tell us all you know about the VA, please. With comments like this you are no better than LD trying to tell us all about insurance.

FAKE NEWS Todd King. I kind of like it! Your like Anderson Cooper trying to rile up the the crowd against Trump.

So are you telling me that Veterans Administration websites provide incorrect information?
I made actual, real life insurance decisions based on that information in the summer of 2016, prior to forum membership here.

Todd is making posts based on personal experience from a time before legislation changed ground rules, but refuses to recognize more current personal experience that is at variance with his opinions and older experience.

The discussion Todd and I are having relates to whether or not a veteran's income levels affect his or her ability to enroll in the VA health system. This is not a discussion about the quality of health care received in the system. There has been at least one thread covering that specific topic over the last year, and I think I know Todd's opinion about that. I also now know yours.

Your client also has the option to check Goodrx pricing for the drugs he needs if he does not care to mess with the VA system. Unless the drugs he needs are terribly expensive, he may still be money ahead over having had to pay for a PDP over however many years.
