Guys got a promo for .99 domain cost for the first year with godaddy or 1 free year of whois for namecheap.

I use godaddy also. Was super nice when they had the discounted renewal coupons. As it is, you can still get initial purchase cheap, but yes... they go up to actual cost (less some potential discounts now and then) in the future. At the end of the day... its still the cheapest thing there is related to my business at $12-14 a year.
